Moving a show between countries needs agile solutions, especially when you need to move FAST. How to fit all the essential audio and lighting gear into a single van allready full of backline? Can we get the audio console on an airplane without messing with oversize luggage? That's what we're here for!
Ultra-compact double 15,6" touchscreen controller
For the very purpose of this tour we designed and put together an ultra-compact double 15,6" touchscreen controller for the Waves LV1 mixing system. Combined with our custom built ultra-compact (12x12x6cm!) yet extremely powerful (equivalent to Waves's most recent Extreme series) Soundgrid Server we were able to fit an entire 128-channel audio mixing system in a size of laptop bag, weighting less than 6kg (!!!) saving up on space, money and carbon footprint
Okay, we shrunk a huge audio board to the size of a laptop, but we still need I/O, right? What about the input count? Can we reduce it without sacrificing quality? With a bit of creative thinking we came up with a smart solution: utilizing top quality omnidirectional miniature microphones (from PointSource audio) and some clever positioning techniques we were able to cut our overall demand for mic inputs by 30%, and for mic stands by over 60%! All that while keeping acoustic instruments sounding full and natural, by eliminating the need for close miking individual percussions.

But we aren't done yet! It's time for the lights! Throw a few LED devices into the van - compact but carefully chosen by a top notch lighting designer a head full of brilliant ideas and smart solutions - that's our recipe for situations like this! And you have to admit - we managed to make it look quite impressibe, even at London's O2 Islington ;)
